MP's get some food for thought on factory tour

Westminster's Welsh Affairs Committee visit Mono Equipment

The House of Commons Welsh Affairs Committee visited Mono Equipment, the Swansea based bakery equipment manufacturers on the 29 March. The request was made to the company because they are a well established Welsh based business. The party, which comprised six MP's, were gathering information for a forthcoming inquiry into manufacturing and trade in Wales.

The party first toured Mono's production area, asking questions of both company directors and production staff. The tour finished in Mono's test and training bakery where the committee saw some of Mono's bakery plant in action and where the party were provided with more information in the form of a question and answer session.

Clive Smith, Mono's financial director, commenting on the visit said, 'This was a request from Westminster that we were very pleased to be able to arrange for the Committee. We hope that information gleaned by the MP's will be helpful in formulating any new government manufacturing and trade policies.'

Mono Equipment is a leading manufacturer and supplier of bakery equipment and part of the Aga Foodservice Group alongside Adamatic, AFE Online, AFE Serviceline, Belshaw Brothers, Bongard, Falcon Foodservice Equipment, Miller's Vanguard and Williams Refrigeration.
