Mr David Ballard, Director General of the British Safety Council, said, 'The National Safety Awards highlight organisations that reach the top levels of health and safety. They are a mark of a proven and significant achievement in safety standards. By making safety an important feature in everyday work practice Mono is reducing accidents in ill health, while improving productivity and profitability.'
Clive Blackmore, the company's Engineering Services Manager, who is responsible for health and safety issues in Mono said, 'I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of the company. It is the culmination of a lot of hard work and diligence by many people in our production plant.'
Swansea based Mono Equipment is a leading manufacturer and supplier of bakery equipment and part of the Aga Foodservice Group of companies alongside Falcon Foodservice Equipment, Williams Refrigeration, Miller's Vanguard, Adamatic, Bongard, Belshaw Brothers, AFE Online and AFE Serviceline.

Mono Equipment, the Swansea based bakery machinery manufacturer, has won a prestigious safety award from the British Safety Council - the 'National Safety Award 2003'. Only companies who have achieved below average accident rates are eligible.
Mono is one of only about 1,000 winners from large and small enterprises all over the country in both the public and private sectors, who faced a tough test in order to satisfy the independent Award Panel.
Winners must have achieved lower than average accident rates, with good safety policies and safety plans in place that demonstrate a commitment to safety at the highest level in the company. They have to detail their health and safety officer's qualifications and provide details of significant advances in health and safety for the year.
